Music in Worship at St. John’s – Choir, Brass, Bells

Weekly choir rehearsals are held Wednesdays at 7:30pm in the fellowship hall. All of God’s people have a place in the choir! Do you like to sing? No experience required. We’d love to make music with you. Click here for a complete rehearsal schedule.

Announcing the St. John’s “Big Choir!!”  a low-commitment, intergenerational ensemble with a mission to sing great sacred repertoire and foster meaningful relationships between singers in and out of the rehearsal. Time commitment is easy. The ensemble will meet monthly—nine times between September and May. Rehearsals will take place on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-8:30pm. When we’re done, we’ll eat, drink, and be merry! Each rehearsal will end with an event that YOU get to help plan. A wine and cheese night? Board/Card Games? Christmas cookie competition? Sounds like fun—you call the shots!

On the following Sunday, we will help lead worship at St. John’s in worship, which is our opportunity to share our gift of music not only with each other, but to our community and God.
Scheduled Wednesday Rehearsals: 7:30-8:30 (Social time to follow)
Scheduled Sunday Worship: 9:00am call, 10:00am worship, 11:00 coffee hour (optional)

Calling all brass players! Are you looking for a fun group of people to play with? Do you know someone who has a brass instrument they haven’t played in a while? The St. John’s brass plays in worship about once per month throughout the program year. It’s fun, laid-back, and musically enriching. Contact Samuel Grace for more information.

Our handbells are all polished up and ready for another year of ringing. The commitment-level is minimal, and we have a ton of fun! Rehearsals are monthly, approximately eight times per year. Contact Samuel Grace for more information about playing. No previous experience needed. Only requirements are a positive attitude and a basic ability to read music.
