We’ve resumed the Page Food Backpack program at St. John’s for 2019-2020, and the donation baskets are ready! The goal is to be able to give 15 backpacks of food each month of the school year to middle school families in need. Food was sorted and packing begun for this month’s backpacks as one of our ‘God’s Work. Our Hands.’ projects this past Sunday, September 8. Thank you for all of your food donations! We plan to deliver the filled backpacks to the school this Thursday, Sept. 19.

Items requested for the backpacks are:

New or used 19-inch backbacks, Cereal (Cheerios, Rice Krispies and Mini Wheats), peanut butter, tuna and chicken, chunky soup/stew, ravioli, boxed dried noodle soup, canned fruits and vegetables, applesauce, pudding snack packs, mac and cheese, and brown rice.

Cash donations to St. John’s “Backpack Program” and Cub or Aldi gifts cards are needed to purchase fresh fruit, yogurt and cheese, and may be dropped off at church.
