Lake Harriet Bandstand Summer Worship

Every summer, a group of local and ecumenical congregations come together and plan outdoor worship opportunities on Sundays at the Lake Harriet Bandstand in Minneapolis. St. John’s Lutheran Church enjoys being a part of this effort to provide quality, public worship for the local community.

TRUST Inc. is a non-profit organization and ecumenical coalition of south Minneapolis churches. They have been providing human services to the area’s residents since TRUST Inc. formally began in 1970. Services include Meals on Wheels, Loaves and Fishes, the Parish Nurse Program, Grief Support, Handy Works, Youth Ambassadors, and more.

Several of these congregations with small youth programs, including St. John’s, collaborate as TRUST Youth, an ecumenical group of leaders and youth who come together several times a year for fellowship, service and an annual mission trip. Find out more about this year’s TRUST Youth events on the Children, Youth and Families page.

Metropolitan Boys Choir

Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey dubbed them Minnesota’s Young Ambassadors of Song. The Metropolitan Boys Choir seeks to provide a unique program of musical excellence and personal growth for Twin Cities Area boys of varied social, cultural and economic backgrounds. The Choir also strives to develop responsible leaders and to empower these young men to become positive influences in their communities. The Metropolitan Boys Choir has called St. John’s Lutheran Church home since 1983.

As a member church of the ELCA, we also support these ministries and the work of the greater church:
