In June the Missionary Circle will meet on the second Wednesday of the month, June 14 at noon at Marj Sethna's home. Nokomis Square is located at  5015 35Th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55417. The meeting is potluck with Elaine Taylor bringing dessert.

A Women’s Evening Retreat

A WOMEN’S EVENING RETREAT with gentle yoga, supper, and listening practice is planned for Wednesday, June 14 from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at St. John’s. Members, friends and neighbors are welcome! A special guest will provide music for meditation. A free-will offering will contribute to costs. Women of the ELCA Convention in Minneapolis

The Tenth Triennial Convention of Women of the ELCA will be held July 11-13, 2017, in Minneapolis, Minn. The triennial convention is the highest legislative authority within the organization. Visitors are welcome at the Tenth Triennial Convention, and a special visitors seating area will be available. No advance registration is needed in order to attend the convention. Name tags for visitors will be available outside the convention hall. Meta Herrick Carlson, a pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, will lead Bible study at the Tenth Triennial Convention, July 11-13. Download Coloring Devotionals!

Worship at Lake Harriet!

St. John's Lutheran Church and St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church will worship together at Lake Harriet on Labor Day Weekend Sunday, September 3 at 10:00 am.  Of course, everyone is welcome.  Please invite your friends and families to attend!

Altar Flowers

Celebrate a special day in your life or memorialize or honor a loved one by ordering altar flowers. You are welcome to take home the beautiful arrangements after worship on Sunday. Please sign up on the chart located on the bulletin board outside of Fellowship Hall. The cost of the two arrangements is currently $30. (Make checks payable to St. John’s and write “Flowers” in the memo line.) There are still several dates open on the 2017 flower chart.

On June 1st some of the staff surprised me with a cake to celebrate my 20th anniversary of ordination. That was a lovely gesture. Thank you, guys! While we ate cake, Ann Paulson asked me whether I have Bible verses that have been foundational to my ministry.
