Community and Neighborhood (CAN)  Committee invites you to volunteer at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in the Longfellow Neighborhood where Food and Supplies are collected and distributed to people struggling due to the COVID pandemic and the murder of George Floyd and events that followed. During August, they will hold distribution events on Wednesdays and Fridays. A link to sign-up is below if you are interested in volunteering. Recently a member of St. John’s attended a webinar called: “Churches that make a difference: Seven Creative Models for Community Ministry” Here are some of my thoughts on what she outlined as the Seven Models: Retool Existing Ministries: I have asked Admin and Council to seriously consider reorganizing our committee structure to become much more nimble in this liminal age AND so that our Young Adults will not feel so much they need to conform to a foreign system of doing things.
