On Wednesday, December 18, gather for the third and final midweek Advent meal and worship of this season. The soup supper begins at 5:30, followed by a contemplative Holden Evening Prayer service at 6:30 p.m.

This year, the worship committee is asking that we connect our message of thanksgiving to the theme of “God’s Work, Our Hands” with which we began our program year in September. On Thanksgiving Eve, please bring a physical object that represents how God’s work is manifested by your hands both inside and outside the church. Because of the expectant hope and palpable anticipation for the dawning, coming, advent of a new day, Advent is fast becoming one of my favorite times of the year. It is the season where we lean forward to the edge of our seats or are lifted to the balls of our feet with the excitement of heightened expectation.
