Each year St. John’s Child Care Center likes to take on a group giving project to help our children realize the importance of helping others in need. For the past 20 years, St. John’s Child Care Center and the congregation of St. John’s Church have worked together on this special project during Advent. This year we are once again partnered with our next door neighbors, Justice Page Middle School. Families have been identified by school social workers as "highly mobile/at risk" families. October was a month of joyful celebrations! October 21, we hosted Kaitlyn and Isaac Johnson’s wedding. On October 29 we celebrated a baptism for Henry, a baptism for Sylvia, Clara Willette’s confirmation of faith, all under the banner of the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation! All of this brought to life the saying is sure: “Truly the Spirit of the Lord is in this place!” And God’s spirit continues to blow life into us, carrying us into November. Worship at St. John's on Sunday at 10:00 am and stay for fellowship and donuts. Sunday school is at 9:15 am. This Advent, we will focus on welcoming the Christ Child, members, neighbors, and guests to St. John’s. St. John’s youth will be creating ornaments to be displayed in our narthex using photos of St. John’s members.
