Sunday school begins on Rally Day at 9:00 am! Worship at 10:00 am includes music from St. John's Choir and St. John's Brass. Fellowship Hour begins after worship with donuts, juice, and coffee. The Children, Youth, and Family Committee is looking forward to sharing the Spark Whirl curriculum with the young members of our congregation. All children are welcome! Volunteers and campers from St. John's and other area churches took part in romping around in Genesis, getting their hands dirty gardening, learning about solar panels, composting, making art, and more! It was a progressive ecumenical summer day camp experience in South Minneapolis offering faith formation in a fun, safe, Christ-centered and relational setting hosted at Bethel Lutheran Church for 4 year-olds to 6th graders...and volunteers. Starting on Sunday, September 13, the Scripture lessons will be from the Narrative Lectionary. The Narrative Lectionary is a four-year cycle of Bible readings. On the Sundays from September through May each year, the texts follow the sweep of the whole biblical story, from Creation through the first years of the Christian church. The texts show the breadth and variety of voices within Scripture. They invite people to hear the stories of Abraham and Sarah, Moses and the prophets, Jesus, and Paul.
